Bite beauty | Lip crayon review!

So I’m fully aware that this post is well overdue, as of lately my life is hectic all the time so this blog hasn’t been updated as much as it could be but I’m so excited to share with you this post on the Bite Beauty lip crayon that was sent to me in the ‘christmas green beauty swap’ by Kasey from Pleinvanity.

First of all let me say she picked perfectly. I received the shade ‘Aubergine’. I love berry type colours, they go well with most if not all skin tones and this was just the perfect match.

The crayon comes in the most sleek style tube with an almost velvet feel. The packaging is just on point in my humble opinion. It is EXTREMELY pigmented, as you may be able to tell from the pictures i don’t wear it to its full capacity. I tend to blend it with a tiny bit of lip balm and I’m happy with that, but if you really wanted to stand out, go for it, you will definitely be complimented on its intensity.

The crayon is matte and didn’t dry out my lips (even when no lip balm was used) and has good lasting power which is always a win win for me!

If you ever visit New York they have a lip lab (how cool does that sound) where you can create your own lipstick! If you are interested check it out here.

Overall i love Bite Beauty and wish they were in the UK, however its probably for the best or i would be bankrupt! You can buy this gorgeous lip crayon from Sephora (they ship to UK) for $24 which equates to around £16GBP which personally i think is really good for a high end lipstick! Not to mention they are infused with food grade ingredients and as they say themselves ‘good enough to eat‘ so go get one (but don’t eat it!).

Orange Peel Wax: Naturally protects and seals in moisture while providing a waterproof layer on the surface of lips.

Skin Blossom Toner Review!

I have never really been a toner gal, more of a cleanse and moisturise type of gal with the odd bit of serum here and there. I have now however upgraded my evening skin care routine to include this toner and really reaped the benefits. Skin blossom is an organic, vegan and cruelty free brand so they pretty much hit the nail on the head with everything I’ve been looking for at the moment.

This toner has greatly improved the appearance of my skin. My skin tones looks even and my pores are less visible. Toners use to scare me because i just flash back to when i was 18 and used the harshest ones out there that stripped your skin and left it feeling tight. The however does non of that. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. It does surprise me however that no matter how much you cleanse your face it doesn’t quite get rid of the final bits of grime like a toner and that is another reason I’m sticking to this skincare routine.

Skin Blossom are a really affordable skincare line and so far the products i have used have been a dream. You can buy this toner for £5.95 from LoveLula and many other well known online beauty retailers such as Naturisimo and MyPure.

My biggest dilemma right now…..

So as i’ve switched to a vegan diet it would make sense that i started to make choices about my skincare & make-up being vegan too. Here is the dilemma. It is just so hard to come by here in the UK. Sure there are some brands which are available over here but there is not a big selection and by eating vegan and then not using vegan products, does that make me a hypocrite? I suppose it depends on the reason why you are vegan and whether it is for health or for the animals. In my personal opinion although i have always loved animals it was initially for health but since my eyes have been opened up to the reality of what really goes on in this world i want to reduce my involvement as much as possible when it comes to animal cruelty.

What i bought in New York!

Even though in only got back from New York around a week ago it’s starting to feel like a lifetime already! You know how it is, back to reality and it’s as though you never went! However I’m pleased to say that i have a few goodies to keep the memories alight 🙂
