Ambronite review!

I was recently contacted by Valerie from Ambronite to see if i was interested in reviewing their product.

Ambronite is a drinkable super meal made from 20 ingredients designed to give you all the necessary nutrients you need to function at your best.

I’m not one to be a fan of drinkable meals, apart from my smoothies, however as the product was vegan and fit within my ethos i decided it could do no harm.

Ambronite is packaged ready to take with you on the go and in your hour of need you can whip it out your bag, add some water, give it a little shake and you’re good to go! (obviously need a beaker of some sort).

My first impression on tasting Ambronite was mixture of ‘ooo’ and ‘mmm i’ll try some more’. The taste of this super meal is super earthy and fresh, i would describe it as Marmite in a glass, your either going to love it or hate it. I however loved it.

Instead of using it as a meal replacement each time i actually decided to experiment and mix it in with some of my smoothies. I was really onto something here, i can only describe the combination kinda like a malted taste. So good if you ask me!

You can grab this super meal for 59 USD (5 packs) or for 99 USD (10 packs) and if you decide you love it so much you can sign up to a monthly subscription for 84.15 USD (10 meals). While you might see this as pricey you can’t deny the lack of chemicals and good clean ingredients. Something we should all have more of.

All in all i really recommend this clean and honest product. If you want to try something different you can get 10% off with voucher code KATE10

Bite beauty | Lip crayon review!

crayonh

So I’m fully aware that this post is well overdue, as of lately my life is hectic all the time so this blog hasn’t been updated as much as it could be but I’m so excited to share with you this post on the Bite Beauty lip crayon that was sent to me in the ‘christmas green beauty swap’ by Kasey from Pleinvanity.

First of all let me say she picked perfectly. I received the shade ‘Aubergine’. I love berry type colours, they go well with most if not all skin tones and this was just the perfect match.

The crayon comes in the most sleek style tube with an almost velvet feel. The packaging is just on point in my humble opinion. It is EXTREMELY pigmented, as you may be able to tell from the pictures i don’t wear it to its full capacity. I tend to blend it with a tiny bit of lip balm and I’m happy with that, but if you really wanted to stand out, go for it, you will definitely be complimented on its intensity.

The crayon is matte and didn’t dry out my lips (even when no lip balm was used) and has good lasting power which is always a win win for me!

If you ever visit New York they have a lip lab (how cool does that sound) where you can create your own lipstick! If you are interested check it out here.

Overall i love Bite Beauty and wish they were in the UK, however its probably for the best or i would be bankrupt! You can buy this gorgeous lip crayon from Sephora (they ship to UK) for $24 which equates to around £16GBP which personally i think is really good for a high end lipstick! Not to mention they are infused with food grade ingredients and as they say themselves ‘good enough to eat‘ so go get one (but don’t eat it!).

Food | The best damn salad!

IMG_3222

I’m so excited to share this recipe with you even though it is just vegetables and ‘stuff’ its going to make you smile….and be healthier.

Recently I’ve struggled to get my vegetables in, who wants to munch on lettuce, kale, cauliflower raw from the fridge… not many people!

So i have come up with a useful way to fit the veg in around you daily meals and let me tell you it tastes amazing! I don’t know why i didn’t think of this earlier.

First of all there is no rigid way to do this you can add what you like, how you like but i’ll show you how i make it and you can take it from there!

Please note you will need a frying pan.

Ingredients:

Kale

Cauliflower

Broccoli

Tomato

Peppers

Onion (1 small)

Garlic (2 cloves)

Balsamic vinegar

Lemon

Puffed rice (optional)

Step 1

. First of all chop all your vegetables into small pieces, the smaller the better (i did mine in the food processor but it isn’t essential)

Step 2

Then add a few drops of water to the frying pan and sauté the onions and garlic until slightly brown.

Step 3

Put the rest of the cut up veg and puffed rice (optional) into a bowl and mix well.

(If you add the puffed rice this really fills the salad out nicely, but on this particular occasion i didn’t use it)

Step 4

Squeeze in a bit of lemon juice and add the sautéed onion and garlic, mix again.

Step 5

Finally add the balsamic vinegar over the salad and stir in nicely. Go easy at first as you can’t take it out once you have put too much in!

Please note, if you do wish to use oil you can i just prefer not to as it tastes pretty good without!

Ta da!

How easy was that. If you like you can add some flax seed, nuts, rosemary and black pepper like i say you can really make this your own! Just add which ever vegetables you have lying around and get them used up in a tasty way.

I have this for lunch and tea as a side dish or if you fancy it as a main meal add some chopped sweet potatoes and have a sweet potato salad!

Let me know if you make it.

Enjoy!

Skin Blossom Toner Review!

IMG_2411

I have never really been a toner gal, more of a cleanse and moisturise type of gal with the odd bit of serum here and there. I have now however upgraded my evening skin care routine to include this toner and really reaped the benefits. Skin blossom is an organic, vegan and cruelty free brand so they pretty much hit the nail on the head with everything I’ve been looking for at the moment.

This toner has greatly improved the appearance of my skin. My skin tones looks even and my pores are less visible. Toners use to scare me because i just flash back to when i was 18 and used the harshest ones out there that stripped your skin and left it feeling tight. The however does non of that. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. It does surprise me however that no matter how much you cleanse your face it doesn’t quite get rid of the final bits of grime like a toner and that is another reason I’m sticking to this skincare routine.

Skin Blossom are a really affordable skincare line and so far the products i have used have been a dream. You can buy this toner for £5.95 from LoveLula and many other well known online beauty retailers such as Naturisimo and MyPure.
